We’re Todd and Tanya Cass, aka TnT. We got hooked on sailing 15 years ago, when friends took us to the British Virgin Islands on a charter trip. Upon return we promptly signed up for ASA (American Sailing Association) lessons, and after Todd aced the classes and I suffered through blood, sweat and tears, we graduated – each certified to captain up to a 50 ft. sailing vessel. Then off we went – chartering and sailing with friends as often as we could afford it – and get vacation time. Many trips back to the BVIs, the French and Dutch Virgins, the Grenadines, and two glorious weeks in the Greek Islands. Always dreaming of a time when we could permanently trade in Indiana snow for sun, sand, and sailing. Fast forward to 2016…We’ve now sold everything we owned (except what is crammed into our 10’ x 10’ storage unit), packed our suitcases with shorts, swimsuits, sunscreen and sandals, bought a gorgeous sailboat, and are preparing for a new life adventure!
In reality, the journey from there to here has not been quite that simple. But we navigated the rough seas with the help of many friends and family, to whom we are beyond grateful. Thank you all for helping us realize our dream.
And the chaos continues… We must now figure out where to stow all those sandals and swimsuits, not to mention Todd’s work-from-boat computer, printer, two monitors, and bins of project files (goodbye guest cabin). We must complete our four days of orientation and training on how to operate and sail this baby (while I am queen of the galley, expert at swabbing the head, and can serve a mighty fine adult beverage on the lido deck, my actual sailing skills are more than rusty). And, manage our new “split personality” – dividing our time between boat in Florida and family (including twin grandbabies due in January) in Indiana and other ports. And of course, there’s Christmas coming up and we’re traveling for the holidays.
Finally…did I mention the dog?!
We hope you’ll stay tuned.
Thanks!
It is so YOU! Enjoy!
