I’ve been hounding Todd to get a haircut. He has been resisting. Threatening to grow a ponytail. Investigating creative ways to cover a bald spot. Spiking his hair. All just to yank my chain and give himself a good laugh. He knows that I have been trying for months to grow my hair out so it becomes long enough to quickly throw up in a top knot – and praying that with my gray I won’t look like Aunt Bee (showing my age with that reference, huh?).
Who would think living on a boat would generate so much hair humor and/or angst? Not so much an issue while we are parked at a marina. But definitely a consideration for the cruising lifestyle we plan to embark upon. “But why the big deal”, you ask?
Carolyn Shearlock of The Boat Galley explains it best in her blog post Boat Hair: To Cut or Not to Cut? I’ll let you read for yourself what she concluded. In the meantime, I am planning to get my hands on some clippers and chase Todd all the way to the barber.
