We departed Shroud Cay on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 to make a very windy crossing to Warderick Wells, a favorite spot from our Bahamas travels of 2019. Winds built from 12 knots to 17 sustained, with gusts to 21. Very sporty! We were tired pups by the time we hooked our assigned mooring ball 14 in the Emerald field which happily, was right next to our good friends and former 2019 buddy boaters, Perry and Angela Covey on their Catalina 445 Navigant! Perry and Angela purchased Navigant after their first 445, Lily Belle, was destroyed in hurricane Dorian shortly after Casstaway returned to the US.
On Wednesday morning the Casstaways joined the Navigant and Holokai crews to make the hike up BooBoo Hill. Rough terrain to conquer but the views are incredible and well worth the climb. Casstaway left a new offering to Poseidon. Some scenes from our hike:
Dawn Treader, Ruth Ellen and EWWE2 got new moorings in the North field, which has more wind protection, so they plan to stay a couple more days, while Casstaway, Navigant, and Holokai will head to Big Majors Spot for better protection than the Emerald field offers. Dawn Treader is cruising to Cambridge Cay for a few days. Wednesday evening Casstaway hosted a dinghy drift in celebration of the RPM reunion, a fun time!
More views from BooBoo Hill and scenes from our trek to get there:
Thursday morning was another treacherous hike to grab a few more photo opportunities before saying goodbye to Warderick and heading to Big Majors and the nearby Staniel Cay.
