May the peace, love, and joy of Christmas be in your heart wherever you roam
Deck the Palms 2021 Tanya Cass
For the first time since moving to our sailboat home, the Casstaways are trading in our snowmen for sandcastles, and spending Christmas riding the waves and resting under palm trees. Cause really, who needs snowflakes when you can have seashells? While we’ll absolutely miss our family, especially those grands, we had a great time celebrating “Summer Christmas” with them last August and plan to make it an annual tradition. Two Christmases? What’s not to like about that?! So, this year Santa will need to put hulls on his sleigh. Or maybe a kayak?
Ocean Christmas (Our apologies to Irving Berlin)
I’m dreaming of an ocean Christmas
Not like the ones I used to know (in snow)
Where the crab pots glisten
And sailors listen
To hear which way the wind will blow
I’m dreaming of an ocean Christmas
Shared with dolphin in my sight
Where my days are sunny and bright
And the stars shine brilliantly at night
I’m dreaming of an ocean Christmas
While we raise the sails and go
Where the beaches glisten
No caring ‘bout the frost I’m missin’
Sittin’ in the cockpit with my cup of joe
I’m dreaming of an ocean Christmas
With sails a blowin’ in my sight
Where my days are sunny and bright
And the stars shine brilliantly at night
I’m dreaming of an ocean Christmas
I’ll have a coconut drink in hand
While to Buffet we listen
As the Captain and I are kissin’
Not caring if we’re yet in sight of land
I’m dreaming of an ocean Christmas
Where ice and slush are not my plight
Where my days are sunny and bright
And the stars shine brilliantly at night
Where my days are sunny and bright
And the stars shine brilliantly at night
Merry Christmas! Wishing you and yours the best of the sea sun,
Captain Todd and Admiral Tanya
