We are still very much a work in progress, but we figured if we didn’t post a few photos soon, you would think we were still living in utter chaos. So, here are some “after” photos, as promised. LOTS to store in a small space and we’ve had to be creative and dual or triple-purpose almost everything. Also making sure that things that need to be stowed while underway easily can be. Then there’s the challenge of creating Todd’s home office! Finally, for now our aft (back) cabin is functioning as a storage/office supply/multi-purpose room, so no overnight guests and NO photos! But, we’ll get there we’re sure. All in due time…
This is the Galley (kitchen). Cookware is stored on shelves behind the companionway stairs. The counter beneath the Britta pitcher opens to reveal the main pantry. The stove and oven are beneath the cutting board. Under the coffee pot is an extra dry bin that can be used for pantry, freezer, or additional refrigeration, which is what we currently use it for. Note the Black Box wine behind the vegetable bowl. We do have our priorities!
Starboard (right) side of the Salon (all-purpose room). The table lowers and we have an extra cushion (stored in the infamous aft cabin, of course) that turns these chairs into a couch. The big basket holds two comfy throws and provides storage for breakables that need to be secured when under sail. The box behind the sailboat is our medicine cabinet/first aid kit. And that black monstrosity peeking from behind the sailboat is Todd’s printer.
Port (left) side of the Salon – our combo Home theater/Dining room. The coffee table raises and expands to become full size for eating, playing cards, etc. (see below). The brown thing on the floor is Gracie’s bed. On the right side of the photo is a view into the Forward Cabin (master bedroom). Around the corner from the TV is the guest entrance to the Head (bathroom). The head also has an entrance door from the forward cabin.
Dining table expanded.
Todd’s office and combo navigation station.
Head (bathroom). The hamper holds dirty laundry and doubles as storage for breakables when under sail. On top of the hamper is our linen closet of sorts. The tote bag in the shower holds all of my HBAs (health and beauty aids), hairdryer, etc. So, when I shower at the marina (which is always while at dock) I can just grab and go.
Forward Cabin. The coolest thing about this room is that the head of the bed raises and lowers which makes it very comfy for reading, working on my laptop, or just vegging out. Awesome reading lights above the bed.
View from the Companionway (entrance from the cockpit into the inside living space) door.
Well, that’s the inside tour and certainly more than enough for one post! Hope it gives you a sense of our teeny tiny home on water. Outside boat and neighborhood (marina) photos saved for another day…
